Centre for Multicultural Youth: Digital History
Jen alongside Lynh Nguyen from the Centre for Multicultural Youth receiving the Oral History Australia Media Award.
Jen worked with the Centre for Multicultural Youth to develop their digital history 35 Years of Culture Shaping, launched in February 2024. Presented on a purpose-built website, the history incorporated an interactive timeline, with embedded oral history interviews as well as both historical and contemporary images and film.
This work was not undertaken as part of the Well Chosen Words consultancy, but instead was supported by Australian Catholic University and an Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship.
In 2024, 35 Years of Culture Shaping was awarded the oral History Australia Media Award. The judges described the history as demonstrating ‘innovative use of oral history in a way that is ethical, hopeful and positive.’
